Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent “tens of thousands” more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,” and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.

The most extraordinary thing is the he has not let up.  Now, as the world stops, he pushes us forward without a moment of self-congratulation.  For how long has he planned this moment?  For how long has he seen this destiny?

Obama has cast a stone into the lake of human history; its effects will ripple forward and back.  For as long as we write, we will write about this day.

Most misread rap, and most rap fans will detest this video. Which is dangerous; rhythm and rhyme hammer home more than plainly put phrases. They can do more — just ask Mr. Poe.

They believed many things once — they were idealists. But those ideals lie dead; some betrayed by heros like Nixon, some unmasked by enemies like Clinton, others strangled for no reason at all. Now that they believe in nothing, not even themselves, they can and will say anything. McCain has offered up his dignity to the orthodox, excised with cynicism.

The orthodox believe only in guns and end times — a death cult. A party of useful idiots, many praying for armageddon, led by self-slashing ex-idealists.

The scribes are waking up to something they haven’t had in forever: fun.

These stories spread with such quickness that is is impossible to capture their full motion.  But they meet at a single point in the near future: humiliating defeat.
